- Tests various liquid dairy products (milk, flavored milk, cream)
Charm F-AP Test
Fast Alkaline Phosphatase
The Charm F-AP (Fast Alkaline Phosphatase) test ensures complete pasteurization of liquid milk products in under a minute. It is a second-generation chemiluminescence test, modeled after the ISO standardized PasLite method, detecting alkaline phosphatase—an enzyme destroyed during pasteurization.
Performing the F-AP test is quick and straightforward. Add a milk sample to the F-AP vial, insert it into the Charm novaLUM luminometer, mix, and read results. The novaLUM measures emitted light, directly proportional to the active phosphatase enzyme in the sample.
With a detection limit of 20 mU/L phosphatase, significantly below public health guidelines, the F-AP test meets stringent requirements. Independently validated as equivalent to PasLite, it’s recognized in the US Pasteurized Milk Ordinance and by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for verifying dairy pasteurization.
Benefits:
- Rapid results in 45 seconds (90 seconds for creams and chocolate milks)
- Detection limit below public health guidelines
- Tests various liquid dairy products (milk, flavored milk, cream)
- Approved by US NCIMS, New Zealand NZFSA, and Tasmania TDIA
- No incubation or sample preparation needed for milk and cream
- Seamless integration into HACCP programs
- Results readable in the novaLUM ATP detection system
